This secure entryway project was an answer by the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut to the upswing in violence in schools throughout the county. The project included a new 2000 SF secure entry vestibule addition and 2000 SF of renovations to the school’s existing reception area and offices. I was appointed project architect at the end of schematic design.
I modeled the secure entry vestibule addition and enough of the existing building to document the renovations and show how the addition interacted with the existing buildings. The model would continue to evolve as engineer’s models were accommodated, and as the project made its way through the town’s site plan approval process. In addition to constructing the model I attended design and town committee meetings, made presentations, detailed and documented the project and constructed schedules and estimates.
