The Hunts Point Wastewater Treatment Plant is located on the southern end of Hunts Point in Bronx County, New York. The new plant replaces the original plant constructed in 1952. As part of an existing multi-site complex the new anaerobic digesters was constructed on a vacant lot next to Barretto Point Park near the waterfront. The four digesters are the most prominent feature of the Hunts Point project, standing 100 feet tall, on top of a new facility located adjacent to the existing site. The multiple building project includes a below-grade equipment gallery, a separate feedwell pumpstation, and additional civil and landscaping work.
